BMC is an acronym for Business Management Company, Inc., a full-service accounting firm that has been serving the Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and D.C. area for more than 20 years.

 BMC offers a full range of accounting services, including monthly books, payroll, accounts payable, professional income tax preparation, business and financial consulting and business management services.

 We currently provide services to more than 450 businesses and well over 1000 individual clients in 25 states and 4 foreign countries.

 We specialize in small business, understanding the difficulties that can occur operating your own company. We combine many years of experience, extensive business savvy, down-to-earth friendly, personal service, accessibility, and affordability to help you reach your goals and to maximize your company’s profitability.

 We are members of the Maryland Society of Accountants, the National Society of Accountants, the National Society of Independent Certified Public Accountants, the National Society of Tax Preparers, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses.

Our History

Business Management Company, Inc. was founded in 1982 by Peter Hess, as a part time business. The company went full time in 1988. BMC's current President and CEO, Brett Hess, joined the company in 1989 and BMC incorporated in 1990. The two Hess's have been mostly responsible for the growth of the company to its present status.

BMC added payroll services in 1992 and has since expanded its services, adding accounts payable and business management services in recent years.

In 2003, BMC moved to its current location, residing in 6500 square feet of office space in the Bramati Building on Bailes Lane .
